JIKSI Editor’s Responsibilities for Publication Decisions
JIKSI’s editor is responsible for determining which manuscripts submitted to the journal will be published, without discrimination based on the authors’ race, gender, nationality, religion, or institutional affiliation. Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of the scientific merit, originality, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s focus and scope in the fields of computer science, information systems, artificial intelligence, data science, and related areas.
The editor, with the help of the editorial board, ensures that all submitted manuscripts undergo a fair peer-review process. JIKSI and its editors take plagiarism and duplicate publication extremely seriously. Manuscripts submitted simultaneously to other journals or previously published elsewhere will not be considered.
Confidentiality
The editor and all editorial staff must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. They must not disclose any information about the manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher. Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s own research without written consent from the author.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
The editor and editorial board members must not use unpublished information disclosed in submitted manuscripts for their own research purposes without the author’s explicit written consent. Editors should recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest due to competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
Reviewers’ Responsibilities for Helping JIKSI’s Editorial Decisions
Manuscripts submitted to JIKSI are initially evaluated by the editor for their relevance to the journal’s scope and adherence to submission guidelines. Only manuscripts meeting these criteria will be sent for double-blind peer review. Reviewers assist the editor in making editorial decisions and may also help authors improve their manuscripts through constructive feedback. The typical review process takes 8–12 weeks.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, or distribute the content of the manuscript to others without prior authorization from the editor. Reviews should be conducted objectively, and personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Comments should be clearly supported by scientific reasoning.
Detecting Plagiarism
Reviewers play an important role in helping JIKSI identify instances where cited works are missing or improperly referenced. Reviewers should alert the editor if they discover any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and any other published paper. JIKSI takes plagiarism very seriously, and any manuscript found to contain plagiarized content will be rejected immediately.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must not use privileged information obtained through the peer-review process for personal advantage. Reviewers should decline to review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or institutions associated with the manuscript.
