|Jurnal Ilmu Komputer dan Sistem Informasi (JIKSI)| is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to publishing multidisciplinary issues in computer science, information systems, and technology innovation both in Indonesia and around the world. JIKSI is a triannual, open access, peer-reviewed, and international e-journal, published in Indonesia. We accept unpublished, high quality, and original research manuscripts in English, resulting primarily from quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methodologies related to or associated with computer science, information systems, and technology applications. JIKSI is published three times per year by the Institute of Information Technology and Social Science (IITSS). All research articles appearing in JIKSI have undergone a thoroughly blind peer-review.
JIKSI will not accept research articles or manuscripts submitted for publication elsewhere.
JIKSI does not publish book reviews, program evaluations, or research articles merely explaining programs, projects, or personal experiences.
All research articles submitted must be written in English.
Peer Review Process
Research articles or manuscripts submitted to JIKSI are initially reviewed by the editors for general fit with the journal’s focus and scope, and for the quality of writing. Only those research articles meeting the JIKSI focus and scope will be sent to reviewers for a double-blind review. Review time is typically 4–6 months. Two reviewers will be assigned to evaluate the research articles or manuscripts on the basis of their expertise. Reviewers are expected to return their reviews within 4 weeks. A third reviewer will be appointed in case one of the reviewers disagrees upon the quality of the research article for publication. The assigned reviewers evaluate the research articles by using a standard manuscript evaluation form. They are required to treat all the information in the research articles as confidential.
Views of the assigned reviewers serve as a guide to JIKSI editors to make a final decision on the research articles. Final decision always belongs to JIKSI editors. Those manuscripts that are judged by the editors and assigned editors to be inappropriate are rejected promptly without external reviews.
The editors then make a decision based on the reviewers' advice, from among several possibilities:
Accept as written without any revisions
Accept with minor revisions (a second round of review is not necessary)
Accept with major revisions (a second round of review will be necessary)
Reject, the paper is not suitable for publication
Archiving
JIKSI utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
