|Jurnal Sinar Edukasi |JSE|is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to publish multidisciplinary issues related to education starting from applied education, traditional value education, health and medical education, tourism education to local and foreign language education in Indonesia and around the world. JSE is a triannual, open access, peer-reviewed, and international e-journal, published in Indonesia. We accept unpublished, high quality, and original research manuscripts in English, resulting primarily from quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methodology related to or associated with multidisciplinary issues in education. JSE is published three times per year by Institute of Information Technology and Social Science (IITSS). All research articles appearing in JSE have undergone a thoroughly blind peer-review.

JSE will not accept research articles or manuscripts submitted for publication elsewhere.

JSE does not publish book reviews, program evaluations or research articles merely explaining programs, courses, or personal experiences. All research articles submitted must be written in English.

Peer Review Process

Research articles or Manuscripts submitted to JSE are initially reviewed by the editors for general fit with the JSE focus and scope and for the writing quality. Only those research articles meeting the JSE focus and scope will be sent to reviewers for a double-blind review. Review time is typically 4-6 months. Two reviewers will be assigned to evaluate the research articles or manuscripts on the basis of their expertise. Reviewers are expected to return their reviews within 4 weeks. A third reviewer will be appointed in case one of the reviewers disagrees upon the quality of the research article for publication. The assigned reviewers evaluate the research articles by using a standard manuscript evaluation form. They are required to treat all the information in the research articles as confidential. Views of the assigned reviewers serve as a guide to JSE editors to make a final decision on the research articles. Final decision always belongs to JSE editors. Those manuscripts that are judged by the editors and assigned editors to be inappropriate are rejected promptly without external reviews.

The editors then make a decision based on the reviewers' advice, from among several possibilities:

Accept as written without any revisions

Accept with minor revisions (a second round of review is not necessary

Accept with major revisions (a second round of review will be necessary

Reject, the paper is not suitable for publication

Archiving

JSE utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. https://www.lockss.org/

Open Access Policies

Publishing in JSE is free of charges. However, we have found that more and more papers have ignored the standard of writing including the references, citations, writing mechanism, and formatting that make editors spend more time to deal with those issues which influence the quality of our journal. Since our journal is not funded, we will charge authors if they cannot revise the issues.

JSE provides direct open access to its content. Our publisher, Institute of Information Technology and Social Science (IITSS), agrees to the Budapest Open Access Initiative definition of Open Access:

open access, we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited.

It is JSE 's mission to support a greater global exchange of knowledge by making the research published in this journal open to the public and reusable under the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
